On Thursday April 21st, a 16 year old male was taken into custody by SWAT officers. The juvenile allegedly had broken into a vehicle that belonged to a KCSO employee at about 5:15 p.m. on Mountain Oak Road to steal a firearm. Officers say he retrieved and the fired the gun, then ran into a Valley Forest Court residence where he fired the gun a second time once inside. Police officers first on scene were unable to make contact with the juvenile so SWAT was called in. After a standoff lasting about six or so hours he was taken into custody at around 12:37 a.m. inside the residence early Thursday morning.
