Sorry for the delay this week… All this talk of El Nino (which I believe could turn out to be another season of El No-no), has had me checking out Miles Muzio’s long-range forecast …

It was a tough out outing for FB last weekend vs Selma last Friday … Hopefully the boys will turn things around as our GENERALS travel up to Corcoran tomorrow to face the Panthers… Corcoran doesn’t have a FS team, so our 3-0 ‘Bucks’ will travel to Ridgeview today to face their third Yosemite-division school … kick-off scheduled for 5:00 …

Tennis fell to a very tough Taft squad last week, but rebounded to sweep McFarland on Tuesday… Coach Lana has the girls playing rather sharp… (Thank you, Mrs. Gohr…) Tennis will face Chavez today … VAR is here ; JV away

VB faced GVHS in their final tune-up for the upcoming SSL play that will begin next week. A disappointing outing for the girls, but hopefully they will be ready for league…

The EB Invitational has been one of Kern County’s longest-running cross country meets… Shafter’s cross country teams have been one of Kern County’s premier squads for a very long time, too… The perfect setting as our VAR boys team came away with 1st place last week. Pacing the VRB was Julian Irigoyen ( 4th out of 138 runners) … VRG came in 4th ; paced by Nadia Acosta … JVB also finished 4th with Christian Bloemhof being the top finisher (3rd) … 1 second behind the 2nd-place finisher… JVG earned 5th place as Diana Reyes’ 7th place finish led the way for Shafter … FSB finished a close 2nd to BHS as Jose Felix captured 1st, and Josh Martinez came in 7th … FSG had a 4th place finish with Shaira Vargas led the way for the girls…

Girls Golf, is scheduled to play at the Delano Muni Course today… tee ‘em up … hit ‘em far and straight!!

Have a good Thursday, GENERALS!!!
